El Viaje

Igor Cardellini, Tomas Gonzalez en collaboration avec le Colectivo utópico

Lausanne
performance In-situ création

Igor Cardellini and Tomas Gonzalez look sensitively at our landscapes and their history. Following a performance at the Centre Bourse in 2022, they guide us through the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, telling stories as we go: a walk through the city to discover a neighbouring “island”…

Wearing headphones, the audience follows an actor-cum-guide who shares her personal history based on the surrounding landscape. Biographical elements, local anecdotes and socio-historical realities are superimposed to form an original story that invites us to journey through our own territory and approach it in a new way. Both artistic and anthropological, El Viaje (the journey) is a theatrical walk designed by two theatre directors based in Lausanne and the Colectivo Utópico, which includes six artists from Argentina, Brazil and Switzerland. This cosmopolitanism enriches our experience and provides us with new perspectives on our daily lives as we take the time to walk and reflect. A thoughtful and fascinating journey that provides an opportunity to focus on the moment and to share a poetic experience as we listen to what the landscape has to say and form an ephemeral community.
